Consider the reflective questions below, and how you can effectively adopt or adapt the feedback strategies suggested by the readings and video resources in this module. Download the Download table below [docx, 22KB]

to record your comments/reflections for each question.

Questions to consider

  • What kind/s of feedback on your learning have you received?
  • What made the feedback helpful?
  • What characteristics might have made the feedback more helpful for your learning?
  • How do you make explicit to students the kinds of feedback they are receiving, and what you want them to do with it?
  • Has feedforward been recognised with your students? Is the purpose of feedforward strategies made clear to students?

Check your institutional policy on curriculum assessment and feedback practices.

  • To what degree has your course/unit met the needs of your institutional policy?
  • To what degree does your course/unit adopt the seven principles for good feedback practice?
  • Is there cohesive implementation across the program/award (to which your course contributes)?
  • Is there cohesive implementation across the overall student learning experience?

Engaging students in feedback:

  • How do you engage students in the feedback process?
  • Plan for an additional process that engages students directly in feedback on learning. Specify the context and how this will be implemented. This could be planned as an action research activity.
