Watch the following video Feedback on learning by Dylan Wiliam.

Although oriented to schools, this short video clip gives emphasis to the use of feedback for future performance – growth and development of skills and abilities for the future. From the comments in the video from Dylan Wiliam, consider how your feedback prompts enhanced future behaviour and learning.

Watch the following video Have we been getting feedback wrong? by Professor David Boud from the 2013 Assessing and Accrediting Graduate Capabilities in the 21st Century conference.

The focus here is on how we can make a difference through feedback to the work that students produce, moving the focus of feedback on to future learning performance.

Video 3

Now watch the following video which shows a practical example of the implementation of audio feedback in a large class (2,100 students annually) for undergraduate psychology at Deakin University. Dr Jaclyn Broadbent received an national Award for Teaching Excellence through the Australian Awards for University Teaching in 2016 for this work. Through the use of audio feedback and feedforward strategies, Jaclyn improved students' satisfaction and retention.

Video 4

Watch the following video which shows another practical example in a large online postgraduate course that implemented a feedback dialogue and feedback portfolio approach. Dr Rola Ajjawi talks through the design of feedback processes to promote feedback dialogue, feedforward and a developmental approach. Students and staff reported improved feedback literacy, satisfaction and positive shifts in feedback behaviours.
