What is Social Media?

Social media describes the technology (or other means) of interaction amongst a network of people. You may think that Social Media is only a modern-day technology, but you'd be wrong. 

		Read How We Know Links to an external site. a book review about "The Information" by James Gleick.  The book review discusses how African drums are used by tribes to pass information quickly about deaths, marriages, and other events. In this case, the drums serve as the social media.
