Digging Deeper

Mediation is employed in a wide variety of contexts, and is constantly expanding to new realms. Just to give a taste for the many different faces and contexts of mediation, I've asked experienced mediators and teachers to introduce mediation’s use in several different areas: Court-connected mediation, mediation in organizations, mediation in family relations, mediation programs in schools and community mediation. And this is just the tip of the iceberg!

We'll start off with this video in which Sharon Press, Director of the Dispute Resolution Institute at Hamline University’s School of Law, introduces court-connected mediation – systems in which judges and court administrators refer, recommend or require that parties to litigation attempt mediation as they embark on the traditional path to a judicial resolution.
