Google Hangouts and Twitter

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is an online tool that allows individuals or groups to hold public or private video chats. Anyone with a Google account can host a Hangout. For this course we will be using Hangouts to bring in guest speakers for synchronous (happening now) sessions every week. We will post the link to the sessions prior an hour or so before each session. A recording of the session will appear at that same link location once the Hangout is complete. The recordings of the Hangouts will remain on YouTube even after this course is complete.

Questions for guests can be posted to the discussion board in the forum for that guest. For example, there is a forum set up for our first speaker, David White where you can post questions before the Hangout and any comments or further questions once the Hangout is over.

Twitter

You will learn how to use Twitter in Week 1 of the course. The hashtag #ilt_usask Links to an external site. has been set up for the course. If you send any tweets related to the course, please use that tag. You can also use this to ask our Hangout guests questions during the Hangouts.
