Instructions

Understanding the IEP takes time, application, and practice. One way to better comprehend what’s in an IEP is to practice writing an IEP for yourself.

Practice Making Your Own IEP

Take the five most important concepts of an IEP from 1.1 What Is an IEP? and apply it to something that you’re trying to learn or a personal area of need.

For example, is there a new hobby you’re trying to learn? Are you trying to learn a new language or to ride a skateboard? Or is there a skill you want to be better at, such as improving your organizational habits? Think about a personal area you’d like to improve and write an IEP for yourself.
