Discussion Instructions
Note: Course facilitation by our volunteer subject matter experts has ended. This discussion is now "read only".
Let's take a moment to share and compare our evaluation findings, as well as our first decisions related to the redesign of our lessons to make them more effective, efficient, and engaging learning experiences for our learners. Please complete the following:
- Provide the URL to the lessons(s) you evaluated within OER Commons.
- Offer a brief (one or two paragraph) summary of your impressions of the lesson you evaluated. Within your reply, reflect upon (a) why this lesson is interesting to you, and (b) the extent to which the lesson is beneficial and relevant to your learners, their goals, and needs.
- In one or two paragraphs, describe the learning experience you want to redesign based on the lesson you evaluated. Feel free to attach your Design Practice: Learning Experience Map*, or share other depictions you have created about your design. Share the highlights of your learning experience, including key changes you want to make related to:
- The real-world problem or task that will be the focus of your lesson.
- The activation activities.
- The demonstration activities.
- The application activities.
- The integration activities.
After posting, use this opportunity to compare your instructional approach and activities with others in the class by offering feedback within a reply to one or two posts made by others.
* The easiest way to attach your handwritten Learning Experience Map is to take a picture with your camera phone, and attach the image to your discussion post using the paperclip attachment icon on the bottom left of the reply window Links to an external site.. Alternatively, La Dawna Minnis, one of our class participants offered the following video that she created to show her students how to embed a photo to a Canvas Discussion post Links to an external site..
