Instructional Model
This is a self-paced course. That means that there is some moderation, but no direct instruction. However, we anticipate that there will be others studying at the same time and we encourage you to use the discussion forum area to post questions. If we find that an explanation isn't clear or if there is a bug on any page of the course, our moderators will collect these comments and attempt to improve the course over time. If you feel something is urgent, please write to us at open at uci dot edu.

Badges and Certifications
The University of California, Irvine's Division of Continuing Education (UCI DCE) has plans to offer badges in the near future. When they become available, these will be offered to students who complete this course by taking all of the final diagnostics in each module. If you complete this course before they are available, we will contact you via email with specific instructions to receive yours. Additionally, for current teachers and others who wish to use the hours studying for this exam to comply with state requirements for hours of professional education, we may issue a certificate of completion for a small fee. We hope to have more details for both of these opportunities shortly.
