Please note: while this is a required assignment, the discussion posts in this course will not be formally graded. A rubric has been provided to assist with self and peer evaluation.
Evaluate your peers' writing by responding with each of these talking points (make sure you find specific places in the essays where your peers succeed in narrating a singular experience and where they may need to work on revision):
1.1 What makes the narrative memorable (what did you like best)?
1.2 What is the meaning of the story (why was the experience important to the writer)?
1.3 How did the writer structure the essay (is there a beginning, middle, and end)?
1.4 What details may be missing and are needed for clarity? (Is there something that the writer implies but does not actually carry out in the narrative)?
1.5 Does the essay focus on one event only (is the topic narrowed enough? remember the "SOFT" video.
