2.2 Example Classrooms- Elementary & Middle School

Take some time to explore classroom designs from various levels and content areas, and hear from the teachers themselves on why and how they landed on their current classroom setup.

NOTE: While you are watching the video, feel free to take notes on the interactive handout. Also, think about a few key questions:

What drove each teacher to her or his design?
What challenges might they face when transitioning to other types of instruction because of their room designs?
What strengths do you see in their designs? How could you apply these design choices to your own space?

When you are done watching, take a moment to revisit the IH for additional prompts to push your thinking and application of the designs discussed.
