Welcome
Welcome to BL-102: Rolling Out Blended, a practice-based, step-by-step guide on how to roll out blended/personalized learning in your classroom or school..
Have you ever tried to roll out a new classroom structure, type of curriculum, or a lesson that took a lot of student movement and choice? If so, you know that it takes a lot of planning, forethought, and patience. Blended/personalized learning is no different! When first rolling out blended in your classroom or school you have to think about three key components: the classroom space, routines, and culture. This course will explain each part, introduce you to concrete strategies being used to implement blended effectively around the nation, and learn why these factors are so vital to a successful blended roll out and how to start implementing them in your classroom today!
1: Why: Key Components of Rolling Out Blended
4: How: Building a Blended Culture
Where and how to begin
- Find your personalized path - When beginning BL-102, first explore the course and objectives for each session to identify your own personalized path to the content. The course was built in 4 separate sessions so that each user can access the material at their own personal ability, experience, and interest level. Feel free to work straight through or jump around as needed.
- Approach the material asynchronously- Though the professor will not be checking your progress, you can still engage with others completing the course through discussion forums and quick quizzes. This will give you the ability to reflect on your own learning, as well as reach out to others to ask questions, share advice, and push your own thinking.
Prerequisites
The only prerequisite for BL-102 is that you have a firm understanding of the theory behind blended/personalized learning and the basics of what it looks like in practice.
NOTE: If this is your first time exploring blended/personalized learning, you should start with BL-101 before moving into BL-102.
