Q: What did the Romans use the Forum for?

A: We will start by pointing out that the word forum means market; subsequently, the Roman forum was the market-place, which soon lost its primitive use and became the center of Roman public life.  During the Roman Republic, it was the venue for citizens to gather for civic meetings, which included public speeches, elections, and criminal trials.
