MOOC Designers and Developers
The MOOC Design and Development Team worked diligently to produce a meaningful learning experience for you. They deserve special recognition for their monumental efforts:
Tina Jagerson
Tina Jagerson graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in English from UCLA and a Juris Doctor degree from UNLV Boyd School of Law. She will complete her Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University in May 2015. Tina previously worked as a law librarian and branch manager for the San Diego Law Library, a county public institution with four locations throughout the San Diego area. At SDLL, she taught legal research classes and helped coordinate many library programs and events, including Attorneys as Authors and Law & Comics. She served as Chair of the San Diego Area Law Libraries (SANDALL) Government Relations Committee, completed the American Association of Law Library’s (AALL) Legislative Advocacy Leadership Training program and was a AALL Leadership Academy Fellow. Tina is also a Colorado licensed attorney and has volunteered at Colorado Legal Services, Family and Children’s Unit and NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado.
Stacey Mitchell
With a combined 14+ years in academic and public library experience in Circulation, Reference, Interlibrary Loan, Course Reserves and Administration, Stacey is a library and information maven! She wholeheartedly embraces libraries’ missions of freely sharing knowledge to enrich others’ lives and hopes participants in this course will enjoy learning as much as she has about the “Emerging Future.” Currently, Stacey, her husband and four cats live in a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas until they can realize their dream of moving to the Pacific Northwest. In her spare time, Stacey enjoys consuming the awesome culinary delights her husband concocts, great wine, traveling, outdoor activities, reading a variety of literature, and anything with cats (therefore fulfilling the librarian/crazy cat lady stereotype!).
Stacey holds a BA degree in English from The University of Kansas and is currently a master’s degree student at San Jose State University’s School of Information pursuing her MLIS degree. Her academic/research interests include emerging technologies, metadata, information architecture and Big Data management. Stacey would enjoy communicating with other like-minded information professionals or just chitchatting about the MOOC; drop her a line at: Stacey.anne.mitchell@gmail.com.
Mollie Dumas
Mollie received her BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Crafts from California State University at Fullerton, after proving she could create interesting and functional objects from pretty much any medium. She is currently nearing the end of the Master’s in Library and Information Science program at San Jose State University . Her studies in this program have focused on youth services, serving patrons with disabilities, public libraries, and the presentation of information using digital tools. Mollie currently lives in Gig Harbor, WA and is ecstatic that autumn is finally here. In her free time, she enjoys working in the yard; running; attending seasonal events held by her town; cooking; listening to audiobooks; and reading while sipping hot beverages and trying to lure her cat to sit next to her. Her cat occasionally complies.
Lisa Andrade
Lisa Andrade graduated with a Bachelor’s in Humanities, which was a mix of religion, history, art, literature, and philosophy of different world cultures. Her decision to choose an undergraduate degree that combined so many educational areas is the same for her reason in choosing to go into librarianship. The constant changing and need for life-long learning involved in this field, is what appeals to her.
She has been working in the library field for about 8 years now. She is currently working in a special library for an environmental agency. She is also volunteering at a community college library, providing reference services. Ideally, after she completes her MLIS, she would like to work in a special library, where you do it all, or as a reference librarian in an academic library.
Gillian Booth-Moyle
