Module 4 The Future of Connectivity: Goal and Objectives

GOAL: Participants will study 5 different perspectives on the future of connectivity, learn what the benefits and drawbacks of each are and how each viewpoint might affect the future of the Internet and social media.

    • Objective 1: Participants will review a list of selected sources about the technological, interpersonal, governmental, socio-economical and economic perspectives about connectivity.
    • Objective 2: Participants will complete a quiz which tests their knowledge of the material in this module.
    • Objective 3: Participants will independently explore a topic of interest within the module by conducting an Internet search and then sharing what they found with other classmates.

A Future of Connectivity Badge will be awarded for completion of the following:

  • Posting an entry to the Future of Connectivity Discussion thread.
  • Taking a Future of Connectivity Quiz which will test participants knowledge of the information contained in this module.
  • Posting an entry to the Future of Connectivity METIS Discussion thread
    • OPTIONAL: Submitting to the METIS Web Content Repository.
      • Posting the same material in the METIS Web Content Repository is optional, but encouraged, in order to keep the spirit of open learning and sharing alive.
      • All entries submitted to the repository by the end of the class will be compiled and made into an e-textbook for participants to keep for future reference and learning.
