Tracking Course Progress as a Teacher
Checkpoint
By now you should be well on your way to using badges in courses. You've learned how to:
- add Badgr as an LTI app to your course
- create badge designs
- applied a badge system to a course
- set up Badgr to award badges based on module completion
Now you can begin awarding badges!
Tracking Course Progress as a Teacher
Teachers can follow along with the badges students are earning in their Canvas courses within the Badges app. As students meet the requirements to complete modules, they become eligible for badges. Every time a teacher or student views their progress page, Badgr makes sure they are awarded all the badges they are eligible for.
Once you've configured objectives for your course and connected badges to them, click the Progress tab within the Badgr app to see a table of students' progress through the badges you've made available.
Teachers may use the search bar at the top to find a specific student, or page through results to view the list of students as a whole. Archive badge earning data using the Export to CSV option.
Badge Award Details
Teachers may click a badge to see badge details for that student. If a student asks about their badge, a teacher may email the student a notification containing their badge using the Email student button. In the unfortunate case that you find out a student has cheated or otherwise should not have been awarded a badge, you may revoke it with the Revoke badge button. (Make sure you change their completion eligibility in the gradebook so that they aren't re-awarded the badge the next time progress is checked.)
