Explore how you might find out about the diversity of the students you teach. Identify if information on student demographics is available to you, and where it is held. This information is stored in different places at different institutions. It may be found in your institution’s website, Learning Management System or enrolment system.

Information about enrolments and progress is becoming more accessible to staff, usually as a whole-of-course demographic, which is very useful. See if you can find up-to-date statistics on enrolments and student progress. This might involve contacting the group at your institution who collects it, or finding it for yourself via the sources indicated above. Work with your critical friends to identify this important information, and discuss how you might use it when teaching
