Dr Ann Luzeckyj, Flinders University & Dr Teresa De Fazio, Victoria University
Dr Ann Luzeckyj has worked in higher education for over 25 years in both Australia and England in a range of roles (as a librarian and an academic). She is currently employed as Senior Lecturer in Higher Education: First Year Undergraduate Teaching Adviser at Flinders University. This role allows Ann to draw on her research interests, knowledge and experience as she supports academic staff to become skilled teachers and develop teaching methodologies which increase opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to succeed as they navigate the complexities of being at university. Her duties include coordinating the Flinders Foundations of University Teaching program and running a suite of programs that support sessional teaching staff.
Dr Teresa De Fazio is Manager, Cultural Diversity at Victoria University, Melbourne, and has worked in higher education for over two decades in the areas of teacher education, languages and cultural diversity. She has worked as an academic and in management in developing both staff and student programs that address student diversity, develop academic and intercultural literacies and support student retention and success. She has worked for Open Universities Australia, and is currently working at Victoria University with a focus on developing programs that foster inclusive approaches to cultural diversity, in particular, from a curriculum perspective. Dr De Fazio is a former Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission and works with refugees and multicultural groups in the community.
