Design: Engaging learners - Part 2
Bringing it all together to engage learners
An important consideration with any learning is engagement. How are you going to engage the learners to take this learning journey with you? Below are various aspects to consider:
- choosing the most appropriate design and collaborative tools so that students are not passive in the learning experience;
- scaffolding interactions between learners online, including support for: access and motivation, socialisation, information exchange, knowledge construction and development;
- integrating the digital and physical environments, e.g. online activities helping to continue the discussion/learning in class;
- integrating digital tools, e.g. the Learning Management System and other online applications; and
- using technology in assessment design to enable more authentic assessment.
