Caroline Cottman, University of the Sunshine Coast & Dr Rola Ajjawi, Deakin University

Caroline Cottman is Senior Academic Developer at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). Caroline’s career spans more than 30 years in Australian Higher Education, including academic roles, instructional design and academic development. Caroline has extensive experience in working alongside academics, advising on curriculum, assessment, use of educational technology and fostering reflective practice and scholarship. Currently Caroline co-coordinates the Foundations of University Teaching course, and manages Professional Learning at USC. In 2014, Caroline was awarded a national Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and has been recognised as a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE (previously known as the Higher Education Academy).

Dr Rola Ajjawi is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning at Deakin University. She has a Bachelor's Honours Degree in Physiotherapy and worked as a physiotherapist and clinical educator before moving into academia full-time with the completion of her PhD in 2007. Since then she has led a program of research centred on workplace learning, with an interest in assessment and feedback in the workplace. She has over 70 publications, including peer-review journal articles, book chapters and books. Rola is Deputy Editor for the journal Medical Education, and is co-editor of a forthcoming book on Developing Evaluative Judgement.
