Module Map: Getting Started

You're in the right place to begin General Semantics: An Approach to Effective Language Behaviors. Here's what you'll do to complete this Getting Started module so you can move on to the actual course content.

1. Read the Canvas Student Orientation: Get Started with Canvas Network page. Review the linked materials. Update your Profile (including photo) and set your Notifications as explained.
2. Complete the Welcome to Canvas Network Survey.
3. Read the two About This Course pages.
4. Familiarize yourself with your Personal Journal. Make an initial entry and then come back to it throughout the course to document your own questions, insights, ideas, etc. (25 points)
5. Introduce yourself to the class. (25 points)

This course is organized using the Canvas Modules feature. All of the course content is contained in weekly modules.

While you can skip around within a module, the feature provides handy navigation buttons at the bottom of each page or activity to guide you through the module.

So generally, we recommend that you go to each week's activities through the Modules button (in the course navigation at the left) and proceed in sequence to make sure you don't miss anything.
