Taking entrance exam for admissions in colleges (e.g. GMAT, GRE etc.) thinking the questions asked in these exams are enough to judge the intelligence of a person for admission to those colleges.

A good example of Allness is the parable of the 6 blind men and the elephant. Each of the blind men has only limited details (unawareness of abstraction) and assume what it is (abstracting different details).

An example would be to say Chinese people show respect for the elderly. (its grouping all persons in the group together not considering personal differences)

An example of Allness would be asserting that the most direct route to the grocery store is the fastest route. What if an accident clogged up the highway? Backroads could be faster.

An example of allness would be a student who thinks all teachers are strict or a teacher who thinks all students are lazy.

"I'd really like to quit my job and open a restaurant, but I don't dare, because selling shoes is all I know."

An exampled of allness could be to assume that one way to stack boxes is the only way to stack boxes with positive results.

An example would be a juror who believes that all witnesses giving testimony are telling the truth because they took an oath.

I always believe that the music love is the best in the world and that everyone must admit to it, especially people close to me, I even get upset if someone tries to dispute it or even shows less enthusiasm than I expected, and everyone who listens to anything else has poor taste, no brain. I always describe the songs or artist I like in absolutes: 'absolutely best', "definitely greatest', "undisputed king of r'n'r"

Steve Stockdale: An example of allness is rigid adherence to labels and categories, which assumes not only that the items with one category are completely different and share no similarities with items in another category, but also presumes that all of the items within a category are the same or similar and therefore discounts their differences.

Susan P: I have witnessed people making broad judgments about a kind of music that I like. I attended a concert that played dubstep/electronica music and it was interesting to see the younger crowd mention to me how they were surprised to see me there, since I'm so much older. This is a contributing factor of "closed to the new or different". I was also surprised because this type of factor was coming from a younger generation towards me.

One of the most rampant examples of allness I can think about is the one exhibited by people belonging to various religious groups. It seems to me that one of the tenets upon which they're all built is the unwavering belief that they know everything there is to know on the subject of spirituality and they rarely appear to be open to arguments which put their beliefs to the test.

An example of allness is failing to see that your teenagers have to learn by making their own mistakes and instead thinking you know best for them and therefore they should listen to you and then automatically follow your advice.

Allness example when I pointed out that a baker needs to use math and they responded that they absolutely did not need to know math because they had calculators and digital scales, and I said But you need to USE it still...and it was frustrating because I could tell they didn't seem to connect with my point that baking uses maths and just because you are utilising a tool doesn't mean bakers don't need to know maths. Confusing!
