The Data Intensive University
The Data Intensive University
The University of Technology Sydney is an inner city university with approximately 30,000 students. It is in the middle of spending one billion dollars to redevelop its campus and in so doing, to re-shape learning for the next century. An integral part of this project is the university's aim to become a "data intensive university" - that is, one that knows about the use and reuse of data to better inform teaching, learning and research, as well as understand business, society and the university itself, how to learn about and research data, how to store and curate it, and how to apply and develop analytical tools.
This presentation will discuss the strategy used to roll out this project over the past 2 years, highlighting some of the significant early projects.
