Module 8: Introduction
Connecting Concepts to Advance Student Affairs Assessment
This course presented seven separate modules representing elements related to coordinating assessment practice. It can be difficult (if not impossible) to discuss or work with some of these topics without touching on another one. In addition to understanding the intersectionality of these concepts in assessment work, one should be prepared to best address them in coordinating activity with others. Professional development for oneself, as well as others, is an important topic to address for the growth and sustainability of assessment culture on campus.
Learning Objectives
In completing this module, you will understand how previously presented concepts complement one another, as well as how professional development plays a part in future assessment success. Specifically, you will be able to:
- Describe the intersectionality of assessment coordination elements
- Summarize the importance of separate pieces within and their relationship to the whole of assessment efforts
- Identify assessment-related areas with which further knowledge or experience is desired
- Articulate goals or a plan for assessment professional development
