Module 1: Who: Stakeholder engagement/ Audience identification

Identification of:

  • Who are stakeholder holders, how to engage them, and what are their information needs
  • Who is the audience for your program?

It’s important in assessment planning to think ahead about how you will analyze, interpret, report and use results. While this is largely determined by what you are assessing and how you are assessing, it is also important to determine stakeholders’ needs. How will you share results with invested audiences. What do they need to know about the functioning of your program and impact on student learning?  Don’t forget that participants are stakeholders too. A strong culture of assessment communicates data effectively and proactively shares data with stakeholders across campus. Stakeholders can includes faculty, staff, students, their parents, and other internal and external parties invested in your program’s success.
