WebGL Globe
The WebGL Globe is an open platform for geographic data visualization. It allows you to graph data and create an interactive map reflecting that data. Big plus: It's really cool looking and students will love playing with it!
This is a free, open source project backed by Google Chrome, so there is no necessary subscription.
