Course Overview
What can you expect?
This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Erasmus+ Funding Opportunities for Youth will equip you with the basic knowledge and understanding of how to use various funding opportunities and fulfill the funding requirements for international youth exchanges, European voluntary service, mobility of youth workers, and Structured Dialogue projects that are co-funded through Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme.
You will also learn how to start developing Erasmus+ youth projects. You will discover good practice examples, tips and hints for developing good quality projects. You will have the opportunity to network with other participants of this course and share your knowledge and ideas with them.
Who can take part in the course?
People from anywhere in the world can take part in this online course. It is totally free and open to join for anybody who wants to:

learn diverse opportunities for international mobility projects funded by Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme

understand how to set up a good quality mobility project for youth or youth workers
- discover youth participation approaches and Structured dialogue
- get ready for applying for the financial support of Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme.
How the course will be structured?
The course will stretch through 5 weeks time:
- 31st October - 5th of December:
Module 1. Introduction to Erasmus+ Youth in Action
- 7th of November - 5th of December:
Module 2. Key-action 1 - Youth Exchanges
Module 3. Key-action 1 - European Voluntary Service
Module 4. Key-action 1 - Mobility of youth workers
- 14th of November - 5th of December:
Module 5. Structured dialogue
- 21st of November - 5th of December:
Module 6. Application procedures
Everybody will be invited to finish the first module during the first week between 31st October and 5th of December before the next 3 modules will be unlocked. However you can start the course later if you will join within the course period. 2nd, 3rd and 4th modules will become available starting from the second week 7th November and the 5th module - from the third week of the course (14h November). Finally the 6th module will open two weeks before the end of the course. They will stay open until the end of the course - 5th of December.
Each module will consist of several sessions. Each session will have one or more videos to watch and participants will be asked to complete quizzes. It might be a quiz or invitation to share some ideas and discuss various topics with peer learners. It will allow to reflect on the content and understand how does it relate to one’s own personal and professional context.
You should plan to spend approximately 3-4 hours each week for learning at this course. There are approx. 30 minutes of videos and various tasks to accomplish in each module.
Don't worry if you will not be able to accomplish all the tasks or watch all the videos within the 5 weeks of the course. You will be able to access course material in "read only" mode even after this MOOC will be over. The discussion forums will be closed when the course finishes.
What is the learning approach of this course?
The course is fully built on the principles of self-directed learning. Each learner can choose personal learning pathway and pace. There will be no live sessions, so you will not need to be available for specific times. We recommend completing all tasks within each module in order to maximise learning, but finally it is up to each learner and his/her personal preferences.
What recognition can you expect to validate your learning and achievements?
The successful completion of the course means, that you went through the content and tasks of the:
- Module 1;
- At least 1 of the next 4 modules (No. 2, 3, 4 or 5);
- Module 6.
Participants who will complete modules 1 and 5 will be entitled to receive the Youthpass Links to an external site. Certificate. Youthpass is used in Erasmus+: Youth in Action to validate and recognise learning outcomes.
There is no grading involved, therefore we won’t be grading any of your tasks. However you will earn Open Badges once you will complete every module. An Open Badge
Links to an external site. is a verified digital representation of your achievements, which you can share anywhere online and offline.
Who are the facilitators of this course?
The course was build by experienced team of facilitators: Laimonas Ragauskas and Nerijus Kriauciunas.
We, as facilitators of the course will be responding to the questions from participants or adding extra inputs to the discussions.
We would be posting overview of the week using the Announcements feature. We will highlight the key things, which happened during the previous week and invite participants to join other modules of the course.
We are very eager to meet you at our course and have some great fun while learning together!
If you work in the fields of education, training or sports without specific focus on youth work, there are other EU Erasmus+ funding possibilities but we do not focus on them in this MOOC.
