About This Course

This course was originally created as part of the Kaleidoscope Open Course Initiative Links to an external site.. This initiative was funded by Next Generation Learning Challenges Links to an external site., to support institutions to use the best of existing open educational resources. The goals of the project are to eliminate textbook costs as a barrier to success for at risk students, and to create a community to improve and sustain the open resources.

The English Composition course, originally developed by Darrel O'Hare and Susan Hines, has been used by faculty members at Chadron State College (NE), Santa Ana College (CA), Tompkins Cortland College (NY), and Armstrong State University (GA).

The course that you see here was revised for self-paced delivery by the team at Lumen Links to an external site.. Lumen lead the Kaleidoscope Project and works with colleges and universities to improve student success using open education.
