Module 3: What Is Revision?

Goals

During this module students will:

1. learn about the revision process
2. read written work aloud, and discern techniques for reviewing and analyzing writing by listening
3. build writing communities through peer reviews and by working collaboratively on revisions.

Outcomes

Upon completing this module, students will be able to:

1. identify grammatical, mechanical, or stylistic errors in their writing
2. select and utilize resources that assist in correcting errors of grammar, mechanics, or style
3. report on specific errors, leveraging their resources and research
4. describe the importance of revision as part of the writing process
5. identify and list effective elements in the narrative essay
6. review and respond critically to the written work of peers
7. revise and produce a final draft of a narrative essay.
