What is the course about?

[Description of the course and content area]

How does the course work?

This course is 100% online and it is asynchronous, meaning that there are no specific days or times students are required to be online as a class. You will regularly interact with each other about the course content: readings, videos, issues, projects, etc.  There will be activities where you will be expected to have a real-time conversation with a partner, either on the phone or on video. Activities include discussions in groups and in pairs, presentations, quizzes and exams, and a project.

What do I need to participate?

Textbook

Textbook Information

[Textbook(s) references and additional information if you are using an eText.]

Additional texts and videos will be provided electronically.

Software:

MS Office (most recent) or Office 365

Hardware/Access:

You need consistent access to high speed internet on a functional and up-to-date computer. Since [we will be meeting on video in small groups/you will be turning in video on assignments/we will have a couple of guest speakers/etc.], you also need access to a webcam attached to a computer or a mobile device with a front-facing camera as well as a headset with a microphone to avoid audio feedback. Earbuds with a mic in the cord are fine though actual headphones with a mic will normally provide better audio quality.

Time management and organization skills:

Plan to spend around _____ hours a week on the coursework including reading the assigned texts or watching video material, interacting with colleagues in discussion forums, and working on individual and group projects.

How do I navigate the course site?

Your weekly activities will be presented via Modules. Always visit Modules to get the information about what must be done during each week.
