5.1.3 Reading: The Visualization of Discussion Interactions in this Course
Since more discussion threads are yet to be contributed in this course, and a few course participants provided replies to peer thread, instead of examining discussion interaction among course participants, we built a two-mode or bipartite network diagram to examine the links between discussion topics and participants.
- The grey squares represent four discussion topics: CE = Content Engagement, CD = Content Design, DP = Discussion Participation, QS = Quiz Submissions
- Each blue icon represents a participant who posted at least one thread to a discussion topic.
In some cases, a static network diagram can present mass interaction better than what a dynamic interactive graph does. Therefore, we also include a two-mode static network graph that was built in R using igraph
