Course Tour Transcript

Justin: Hello and welcome to the self-paced MOOC, Accessibility: Designing and Teaching Courses for All Learners.
Thank you for joining us. Hopefully, you will enjoy and benefit from this experience. To help get you started, sit back, relax and watch a tour of the course. First when you open the course, you will find yourself on the Home page. You can return to this page at any time through the Home tab. Click the Start Here button to begin working on the course.

This button takes you to the Course Overview page where you will begin learning about the goals and format of the course. Note, you should work through the course at your own pace but the content is divided into six weeks. The course is set up this way to provide you a pacing guide. Also on this page is the MOOC Introduction video. Don't forget to watch it. Included with the videos in the course are captions along with transcripts of the audio. Once you’ve viewed the content on this page, you can use the Next button or the previous button to move through the course. You can also navigate the course by using the tabs in the course menu. The modules tab allows you to access each of the pages, assignments and discussions in the course. This will be helpful if you want to access a specific page or assignment without moving through the entire week. For example, if I want to go back to the preparing for the course page to see where I can get technical help, I can click on the page and go right to it. Make sure to read all documents in the start here module because they will address topics such as prerequisites, assessments, badges, course outline, creative commons license for this course, and how you can participate via social media.

On the Next Steps page, there is a welcome survey and a Meet Your Classmates discussion to get to know your peers. When completed, move on to the week one content. Every week has a weekly overview page where you'll be able to view an introductory video which details what you can expect that week. You'll also find the course competency and learning objectives for the week there as well as a description of the learning activities and badge assessment for the week. Now that you're familiar with the navigation of the course, go right ahead and get started.
