Overview of Part 1

All right.  This is the part where you get to see what this module is all about.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• Describe the open-resource philosophy and its relation to distance learning and the free culture movement
  
• List (though not prove) the potential benefits of developing, sharing, and modifying free and modifiable teaching materials
• Define "Open Educational Resource" accurately and with satisfaction
• Distinguish OER from all the other stuff the internet allows you to look at for "free"
• List some of the types of OER available, and access some for your own use

This module will take about 25-30 minutes to complete, depending on your internet connection and how you like to do things.
