Making Connections in The Food World Michael Batterberry is relevant not only for the innovations he brought in the food magazine industry, but also for his ability to connect individuals to work together on interesting – and often important - projects.
Activist Michael Nishan explains how Batterberry had a penchant to know what’s next, identify missing elements and put people together. Batterberry supported him to found the Wholesome Wave Foundation Links to an external site. to help people in under-served communities spend SNAP funds (monthly benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, based on household size, income and other factors) at farmers’ markets.
Writer Katy Keiffer tells us how Batterberry was instrumental in helping her find her true passion in the food world.
Batterberry also convinced Chef Brad Farmerie that he needed to get his message out. Now the chef regularly writes about food.
