Statistics in Education: Some Important Context
It is important to recognize that although this course is focused exclusively on learning the fundamentals of statistics in educational evaluation and research, there is a wide range of data that an evaluator or researcher is able to collect. In this presentation, Lloyd Rieber presents a general overview of educational evaluation and research. He discusses the differences between research and evaluation. He also provides a brief overview of qualitative research methods and compares those to quantitative approaches. He also discusses mixed methods approaches and the concept of triangulation.
